For Students

Academic Advising Services (AAS) provides accurate, sound, and timely advising, helps students learn to navigate and use the processes and resources at NC State effectively, guides students in their exploration of majors and careers, and assists students transitioning to new majors.

AAS offers walk-in advising to the following groups of students:

  • Students exploring majors or changing to a new major.
  • Prospective external transfer students, for whom the focus of advising services will be NCSU major exploration and review of degree program requirements.
  • Non-degree students, which may include former NCSU undergraduate degree students.

Students may also work with AAS advisors via email (Ask an Advisor) or telephone (919-515-8130).

Current or former NCSU undergraduate degree students in transition are the priority population for Academic Advising Services (AAS).
